About Intouch Counseling

The story behind ‘Intouch’

During the initial phase of starting my practice, I dedicated considerable thought to choosing a name. While many positive feelings were associated with names evoking bravery, courage, self-improvement, body wisdom, healing, and growth, I was particularly drawn to "Intouch," even though it is not grammatically conventional. I ultimately decided to use it.

The name "Intouch" serves as a continuous reminder for me to remain connected with my sensations and feelings when working with clients. My intention is to help clients connect with their bodies on a deeper level. This approach aligns with my belief and Peter Levine's concept of the body as a vessel for healing, as developed in Somatic Experiencing (SE).

It makes intuitive sense that our bodies have been with us from the very beginning, even before our brains were fully developed. Our bodies hold an inherent capacity for bravery and courage, possessing the wisdom to guide us through life. I believe that being "in touch" with this inner wisdom is an essential key to well-being.
